Quintessential Songwriter featuring Harry Baulderstone
From the co-producer of Adelaide Fringe success’ Feelin Groovy: The Songs of Simon and Garfunkel and Stripped Back Mac brings for the very first time a brand new performance showcasing the Quintessential Singer-Songwriter!
What is the modern day singer-songwriter? With so many artists in the modern era it can be difficult to sort through the myriad of genius poets, crafty lyricists and the quintessential storyteller. Adelaide-based Harry Baulderstone was raised on classic folk, rock and pop music from the 1960s onwards continues to be influenced by many artistic and musical voices including Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, David Bowie, Crosby Stills and Nash, Jackson Browne, as well as maestros closer to home including Paul Kelly and Bernard Fanning. It can be as simple as an acoustic guitar, thoughtfully penned lyrics and a reasonable singing voice, but these artists have shaped the idea of a soloist; singer-songwriter. Growing up on these modern masters, Harry has compiled a list of songs which have endured from their time of writing and continue into the present day. With zippy and fun ditties to heartfelt ballads, there is something for everyone in this array of modern classic tunes.
